Christmas in the Market Place

Christmas in the Market Place

A message from ONE Kegworth

Sunday 2nd December saw the return of the annual Christmas Market with well over 3000 visiting over the course of the day.

ONE Kegworth does the majority of the organisation & heavy lifting in conjunction with Soar Country Trading who are key for the marketing and business links. Our Kegworth Businesses support the event with special opening times and events.

The Co-op provides some of the much needed goodies for the 300+ children's gift bags; mulled wine and festive food from Indian Cottage; Oaklands opened in their new premises - with their famous food offering and extra support by hosting four stalls on their frontage; Flowers by Fredricka had a massive display and extra offerings, Oliver's Cafe and Kegworth Chip Shop opened; The Treatment Room held events for children and Soar Trading provided much needed parking for some stall holders and extra power, opened longer hours and hosted children's cookie decorating. Kegworth Plan Group arranged the visit from Father Christmas who was in his Grotto thanks to Dan's Barber shop. The Yew Lodge sponsored the Hunt the Gingerbread people. The new micro pub, the Crane & Wells Tap opened allowing many to sample delights and the Cap and Stocking hosted a Christmas Bingo. The new estate agents coming to the corner of the Market Place, Thomas James, held a stall with special prizes for children.

Kegworth Primary School children entertained us just after the tree lighting and we heard a few words from the Leader of the Fellowship of the Elves. Thanks also to Steve and Sarah for the PA system. We do all this to give Kegworth a chance to promote itself- as is our Mission.

Next year the event will be on 1st December so send your enquiries to who will be pleased to hear from you.
