East Midlands Gateway - Project Update

The East Midlands Gateway project commences in the New Year. Part of EMG's Communication Plan is to give prior notification of works including traffic management being established on the Public Highway.

Attached is the first Project update, which has been letter dropped to local residents to provide information about the project and details of how to contact the construction team.

In the short term, a site access will be installed on the A453 Northbound between Finger Farm roundabout and Junction 24. The picnic and parking area opposite the Kegworth turning will be closed to public, with a site and emergency vehicles only access being maintained from w/c 9th January 2017. Additionally a 50 MPH speed limit will be placed on the A453 from the 26th January 2017 to facilitate the safe access and egress of traffic from site.

The Existing Field farm access onto Church Street, Lockington (adjacent the A50) will be widened to provide safe access for construction traffic into the site. This will require some traffic management and occasional closure of the end of church street against the A50 (A50 will be unaffected and diversion will be via main street) Jan-Feb 2017.
