The Sunflower Cafe

The Sunflower Cafe for those with dementia and their carers and friends opens its doors for the first time on Thursday 7th February at Kegworth Village Hall. The cafe which is open from 2.30pm to 4pm, offers an opportunity to unwind with friendly chats, games, music, quizzes and singing.

Entry and light refreshments are free.

The cafe is organised by The Rotary Club of Shepshed & Charnwood and is supported by the NHS Let's Live Well in Rushcliffe Community Initiative.

A funny play set in a run down holiday home in Scotland.Mike decides to take his wife, Karen away for a surprise birthday party weekend, and invites Miriam and Malcolm a couple that he thinks are Karen's friends. He also invites his best friend James who brings along his new partner Christina.The holiday isn't quite what they expect and Mike gets into hot water with his wife over more than just the state and size of the accommodation !The cast includes; Clare Craven and Win Churchill as Karen and Mike, Sally Hind and Everard Robinson as Miriam and Malcolm, Clark Jennings as the Lothario, James and the welcome return of Judith Evans who plays his partner Christina.There is a licensed bar and free nibbles on the tables.Tickets £9 available from Newton Fallowell, on the door or from Sally on 01509 673308.
