I was born in West Sussex, and first came to the Midlands to study civil engineering at Loughborough University. Having worked on road and bridge building projects in exotic locations like Grimsby and Milton Keynes, I was pleased to return to the area to build the radial sluice gate on the River Soar at Zouch.

My tenure as an 'East winder' is now probably drawing to a close, as I have lived in the village for over twenty years, both top- and bottom-village. Now in Station Road, I live with my partner Pam – who works at Long Lane Equestrian – and a greyhound that can sleep for twenty-two hours a day.

I work as a research manager, supporting academics to find, pursue and win funding for their research in topics across the built environment. I'm keen to deploy these skills and my engineering background to support the sustainable development of the village and its amenities.

I have been a Councillor since 2015 and welcome the opportunity to work with all to retain Kegworth's friendly atmosphere despite the challenges of rapid development and increasing population. The bypass offers new opportunities, but with HS2 looming over the village, plans for hundreds of houses submitted but on hold, and increasing numbers of homes of multiple occupation constraining local families' opportunities, there is much to consider.
