Who we are & what we do
Kegworth Parish Council is a democratically elected body which was "born" on the 4th December, 1894 and comprises ten Councillors, both men and women.
The Parish Council owns, and is responsible for Kegworth Cemetery on Whatton Road, the King George V Playing Field on Nottingham Road, the Whatton Road and Sideley Recreation Grounds, The Flash off Mill Lane, the allotment sites on Station Road, Sideley and adjacent to Kegworth Primary School, a small piece of land off Long Lane and the Parish Council's Office, 1 London Road, Kegworth. It owns the land upon which the Kegworth Village Hall sits but not the Village Hall. This is owned and run by a Registered Charity called The Village Hall Management Committee. In 2010 the Parish Council installed two Multi Use Games Areas on its Whatton Road and Sideley Recreation Ground and in 2011 with the help of a County Council Shire Grant and help from East Midlands Airport and E.on the Parish Council was able to install skate boarding equipment on its Sideley Recreation Ground.
Further development of the Whatton Road and Sideley Recreation Grounds will see the Parish Council install equipment for adults to use to help them to keep fit.
The Parish Council is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of St. Andrew's Churchyard, which includes the boundary walls and fences and the War Memorials, and the whole of Kegworth Market Place.
