The work is expected to take around 30 days.

Thank you for your patience whilst we make these improvements.

Ongoing Works at Sideley Rec - Updated 05/04/2017
The Parish Council and the working party have been working hard over the past months to finalise the improvements to Sideley Park having of course listened to all the feedback received from the consultation carried out in late 2016.
A Project Manager has now been appointed and the first 'spade' went in the ground on Monday 3rd April 2017 which works will last for around 30 days. These are very exciting times and it is already possible even just after a few days, to visualise how the completed Park will look!
If you do go to the Park, you will see that some of the area has been cordoned off for safety reasons. Along Sideley, one of the gates has been locked to allow for storage of materials and for the heavy machinery to exit and enter the site. Access to the Park from Sideley is therefore via the footpath on the far left hand side. We continue to appreciate your patience during this time.
The multi-use leisure path is the biggest part of the whole project and this pathway is being laid during the month of April. Again, the contractor will work in zones for safety reasons.
Also to be installed over the next few weeks is the dog agility area, picnic benches, memorial seats and garden areas. All this will be in place for the Family Fun Day and Food Festival which takes place on Sideley Park on Saturday 3rd June 2017.
After the 3rd June and before the summer break, we will install some new equipment aimed at older children which we hope will be well received!
Other smaller projects are being considered such as goal nets for the football posts and some marking out in relation to the pitch, repainting of the teen shelter and the equipment in the small children's play area.
If you wish to speak to me about the project, then please get in touch.
